I’ve heard about and seen first-hand a few projects over the years that employ a concensus approach, whether it be soliciting advice from the film’s subjects, a group of filmmakers, or in this case, the public. Via Filmmaker magazine’s blog, “Two filmmakers, Eric Byler and Annabel Park, are making a film about the politics of immigration in Northern Virginia. They are posting short clips of their film on a channel they have set up on the site and are soliciting viewer feedback about the future direction of the project.” (A Documentary Chorus)

The filmmakers have 1500 views so far with 24 comments. Thoughts about this process? The film is pretty hard to not get fired up about, but the number of contributions feels low to me.
